“For Better or Worse” Part 1

All the times when I’ve considered the future in my years on earth, I never gave a second thought to the idea of injecting myself intravenously, daily. This is something many have to live with for several different reasons. But me having Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma was not a concern either, earlier in life.

And then I remember: we talked of days like this back in 1980 when we discussed our wedding vows. “For Better or Worse” was vowed between us before our Creator way back then and the nearly 40 years since hadn’t made these vows any less weighty. The vows said by people throughout the history of our planet, as well as Rebecca and I, became more real this past year. And, along with this trial, we understood why.

During creation, God’s Word tells us in Genesis 2:18 (NAS): Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”  Nothing about this fact has evolved, morphed, or been replaced in our 21st Century.  God has written, “Let marriage be held in honor among all.” (Heb.13:4), but, our world is embracing  familial and marital disorder and disregard.  Marriage has been corrupted, minimized, and is now often viewed as unnecessary.  But God has blessed Rebecca and I so, via the covenant He ordered and established at creation:

Genesis 2:24 (NAS): “For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”

Through this we have believed and lived by taking God at His Word.

Human events like birth, parenting, and marriage are recalled frequently in the Bible to help describe the Gospel of Christ.  That The Church throughout the ages is betrothed (as a bride) to Jesus the Christ (as the Bridegroom).  It is an eternal ordinance that I am happy to be part of, for it is blessed.  Spouses, let me encourage you to esteem each other above any other and intentionally love your mate.  Honor marriage, and honor your marriage.

Rebecca and I teamwork the daily vein injections of Laetrile, I place the needle and she pushes the plunger.  Together we have learned much about alternative cancer treatment because we had to.  When you meet with an Oncologist he has everything ready for you once you step onto their path or treadmill.  Most people will have no idea what they are up against .   Alternative medicine or therapy must be discovered.  Together, we are relying on our Father to heal me using life-giving, naturally occurring curative remedies.  Remembering the analogy of hiring someone to repair Sheetrock damage from a leaky roof without roof repair, Americans misplace faith in mans medicine.  Poison, cutting, and burning as cancer treatment is like using leaches to “purify the blood.”  Hopefully one day this will be revealed to all.

Proverbs 3:5–8 (NAS): Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones.

    All of my being, body, spirit and mind, is cheering you on! I say amen and amen to your chosen path and the One to whom you turn for guidance. I wanted so much for my loved one to choose the path you are on. But it’s an individual choice and “the experts” make it difficult (and wildly unpopular) to use faith and logic in fighting this ever-growing disease. I’m praying for wisdom (as He tells us to do. And that He will grant it!) and that Jehovah Rapha will touch you and heal you. And that through your story, the way will be easier for others to follow! Blessings of abundance be poured upon you both!
